Transfer of a ventilated patient to Nigeria

February 5, 2016

A patient had been unable to leave India due to a severe \’motor neuron disease\’. Due to financial constraints, the patient\’s family was not able to afford the cost of a medivac. For the first time in medical evacuation history, a ventilated patient was shifted to another continent via a commercial plane. As usual, the transfer was seamless and the patient was dropped off safely in the Nigerian capital of Abuja.
