Pledging our organs for donation can help save a lot of lives. Every year Indians need 1,00,000 organ transplants but only a few 4,000 are executed due to lack of donors in the country . So , to promote and create awareness about organ donation in India , Dr. A.S. Soin-Director, liver transplantation unit at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple organised a 2-Km walk near the Akshardham Temple, New Delhi .EMSOS , empanelled with Dr. A.S. Soin for performing organ transplantations in India , also became a part of this prestigious event .The other participants were the doctors from major hospitals , students from various schools , people who have already done a organ transplant and volunteers from every sphere willing to take part in organ donation . As Dr. Soin rightly said “It is a matter of great concern that the organ donation rate in the country is among the lowest anywhere despite India having the largest number of potential donors in the world, this attempt will hopefully trigger a change of attitude vis-a-vis organ donation and through this help save a lot of lives," . It is estimated that around 25,000 people need to donate their organs every year to fulfill country's transplant needs. We need to raise awareness levels so as to ensure that more and more people pledge to donate their organs after death

The patient was a victim of a blast and was critically injured suffering from spinal injuries. Lack of amenities and medical aid at the hospital where the patient was being treated in Afghanistan led to an urgent requirement of medical evacuation to the closest safe country which could provide all the medical facilities to the patient. EMSOS played an active role, getting all the clearances & permissions within 24hrs and made an immediate evacuation of shifting the patient successfully to Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi. Dr. Navneet Singh ,Director-EMSOS , an efficient leader and the EMSOS team proved once again, it’s the life that matters and values, even if you have to risk your own life.
